Honourable Mayor of Ntabankulu Local Municipality, Her Worship Cllr Tsileng Sobuthongo condemns taxi related violence that took place in the early hours of today which claimed two lives of the taxi operators.
A community member who was shot by a stray bullet was rushed to hospital and is recovering. The matter is in the hands of the law enforcement, and the community is urged to be calm during this difficult period.
Two suspects have been arrested by a joint operation of the police and taxi industry. Law enforcement is still in pursuit of other two suspects who ran away from the scene.
