Vusithemba Foundation Brings Warmth to Goso Home for Children

The Apostolic Faith Mission Mzamba Casino Assembly’s Vusithemba foundation has brought warmth and comfort to the Goso Home for Children in Lusikisiki, donating 21 blankets to the facility. The home provides a safe haven for orphaned and vulnerable children, and the foundation’s generosity has been welcomed with open arms.

Under the leadership of Pastor Nkewu, the Vusithemba foundation has been supporting the Goso Home for Children, not only with blankets but also by taking some of the children on holiday during school breaks. This support is crucial, as the home relies heavily on donations from organizations like the Apostolic Faith Mission and individuals, as well as occasional assistance from the Department of Social Development.

The Umzimvubu welfare region chairperson, Pastor Magadla, shared with Pondoland Times the challenges faced by the home, including the need for a pump for the borehole, transportation for the children to get to school, and washing machines. Despite these challenges, the home remains a safe and warm space for the children, thanks to the dedication of the six mothers who care for them.

Nomelikhaya Sikhunjana, one of the mothers at the home, highlighted the challenges of caring for the children, particularly when they first arrive, due to their often-traumatized mental state. However, with the support of organizations like the Vusithemba foundation, the home is able to provide a loving and nurturing environment for the children to thrive.
