According to the Premier Soccer division (PSL) Royal AM a Premiership team will not be playing in the 2024–25 DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) reserve division.
The KwaZulu-Natal club owned by businessman Shauwn Mkhize has been unable to field a team in the under-23 DDC due to a Fifa transfer embargo the PSL stated in a statement on Friday night.
A Fifa registration ban has prevented Royal AM from fielding a team in the 2024-25 DStv Diski Challenge competition, the PSL statement said.
The PSL executive committee has decided to ban Royal AM from competing in the 2024–25 DStv Diski Challenge after considering the information and arguments the club submitted this week.
Due to contractual disputes with Brazilian defender Ricardo Nascimento and Serbian striker Samir Nurković, Royal AM has been banned from FIFA twice.
This comes after the Pietermaritzburg-based team was given another three-window transfer restriction in the Nascimento case and failed to repay a payment of R12 million to Nurković.
