Young footballers from Matatiele were given a valuable opportunity to test their skills against professional opposition when the Matatiele Mayoral Squad faced Chippa United FC in a Mayoral Cup showcase at BCC Stadium in KuGompo City.
The event featured matches involving Under-19 and Under-21 teams, creating a platform for aspiring footballers to display their abilities while gaining experience against quality competition. The matches formed part of ongoing efforts to promote youth development and identify emerging football talent within the municipality.

The occasion attracted a wide range of stakeholders, including technical teams, municipal officials, football administrators and supporters from both Matatiele and Chippa United. Their participation contributed to a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated sport, unity and community involvement.
