Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro says Kaizer Chiefs have more time to rest ahead of their Nedbank Cup showdown.

“There is no periodization when you don’t have time to rest. The physiological studies say you need three days to rest and we did not get that. But it is not my business and I don’t decide when we play,” said Riveiro in the post-match conference.

So that means we have to be smart to use every strategy to make sure that we can balance that disadvantage,” coach Riveiro added.[/perfectpullquote]

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has explained how Kaizer Chiefs have managed to maintain their dominance over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, with Amakhosi winning the last five Soweto Derbies.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“You know football, you cannot rely more on what you have done in the past, we have beaten Pirates five good times,” said Zwane at the Chiefs village in Naturena.[/perfectpullquote]

“Yes, we have won those games; we got it right. So hence the coach from Pirates [Jose Riveiro] said that this time around, this will be a different Orlando Pirates [team]. But only time will tell.

“Chiefs will go to FNB [Stadium] with one thing on our mind, to go there and give our best and be victorious.

Kaizer Chiefs are going to this game with an upper hand in the books as they have managed to defeat the Sea Robbers five times consecutively, twice in the league this season. On the other hand Orlando Pirates are coming to this game as the on form side as they managed to win 6 games in a raw and one draw recently against Royal Am.
