South Africa won 1–0 against South Korea in a close World Cup Group A match. It was a hard game where both teams fought strongly from start to finish.

In the first half, South Korea had more control of the ball. They passed well and tried to create chances, but South Africa stayed strong in defence and did not allow easy goals.

South Africa also struggled to attack in the first half, but they stayed patient and kept their shape.

The second half was more open. South Africa got their chance when Thapelo Maseko scored after a mistake from the South Korean defence. He finished calmly to give his team the lead.

After the goal, South Korea tried very hard to come back into the game. They attacked more and put pressure on South Africa, but the South African defence stayed strong.

Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams also helped his team by making important saves when needed.

South Korea had more possession, but they could not score. South Africa used their chance well and took all three points.

This win is very important for South Africa as it advances to the knockout stages of the FIFA world cup, for the first time in history. South Korea will feel disappointed because they had chances but did not score.
