The South African Weather Service has forecast scattered to widespread rainfall across large parts of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday, 28 December, with a high likelihood of thunderstorms in several districts.
In KwaZulu-Natal, coastal and inland areas — including the South Coast, Midlands and northern regions — are expected to experience widespread rain, which may lead to slippery roads, reduced visibility and localised flooding.
Parts of the Eastern Cape, particularly coastal and eastern interior areas, are also expected to receive significant rainfall, while central and western sections of the province may remain relatively dry.
Residents are urged to exercise caution when travelling, especially in low-lying areas and near rivers, as weather conditions may change rapidly.
Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates where necessary.
