FLAGSTAFF: Multiple people lost their lives in an auto wreck after a minibus taxi collided with a Mercedes sedan on the T23 road near Flagstaff on the 3rd of January 2024.
Reports from the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality say that a white minibus taxi lost control after a back left wheel burst, the car then overturned resulting to a collision with a Mercedes sedan, one person lost their life on the scene while at least two others succumbed to their injuries at hospital. According to witnesses, this happened around 13h00 on the 3rd of January last Wednesday at Roskrudge towards Hollycross hospital.
The South African Polise Service, the Department of Transport in the Eastern Cape and the Department of Health have yet to issue out a statement and any means to contact them have not yielded results. This means that the exact current number of the deceased, the severe injured and their names are yet to be released.
Roskrudge stop is known for leading the way to the famous ‘Emanesini’ (Nurse’s) spot, that is where an ambulance filled with a group of Nurses rolled out of the road killing everyone on board. Up until this day, no form of road safety measures have been put in place to avoid such tragedies, the story is in progress.
