The Kumkani Mhlontlo Local Municipality has officially handed over the Lower Ngcolokini–Gqunu via Madukuda Pavement Road, marking a major milestone in local infrastructure development.
The project includes:
- Two newly built culvert bridges
- A complete stormwater management system
- Paved road access linking Ngcolokini, Gqunu, and Madukuda
“This is yet another example of our commitment to efficient service delivery,” said municipal representatives during the handover ceremony. The project was completed within the expected timeframe, demonstrating strong project management and community focus.
Officials say the new infrastructure will improve:
- Transport access for rural residents
- Flood protection
- Economic activity across Mhlontlo
