Blood became a river as four women died in a car accident on the N4 between Malelane and Hectorspruit. The accident was caused during the clash of not one but two hatchbacks, a bakkie and an articulated truck into one another. In this hurtful and heartbreaking accident, one of the hatchbacks clashed head-on with bakkie. The driver of the hatchback is facing serious injuries.
The driver of the other hatchback and some of the four passengers has minor injuries. The rest of the injured people were rushed into the nearest hospital namely Shongwe Hospital to get medical treatment and to recover well.
The crash led into to further investigation by the safety engineering team in the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) together with partnership of SAPS and the Road Traffic Management Co-operation.
The cause of an accident is not yet confirmed but the investing is on the process confirmed by the spokesperson of the DSCCL Moeti Mmusi.
The Mpumalanga MEC released a statement to drivers and tourists to be cautious and focus on the road to limit the causes car accident.
He passed condolences to the families who lost their loved and wished speedy recovery to those who are injured.
