Tuesday Ebongweni Closed Maximum Correctional Centre hosted a freshwater angling (fishing) competition at Lake Eland in Port Shepstone.

This was a two-day Head of Centre Cup competition is whereby officials of Kokstad Management Area competing against each other and it came to an end on Wedneday, it was the brain child of former Head of Centre of Ebongweni Johannis Steyn who has been recently transferred to Sevontein Correctional Centre in Pietermaritzburg Management Area. Steyn felt that he must introduce and sponsor this tournament after realising the stressing working  environment his officials are working under. According to Kuhn Godden one of the  officials who partook in this competition it was a great outing whereby they had break to distress  and mingle with each other away from working enviroment.

The overall winners of the Head of Centre cup was Lucano Bloem.
