Police in eMaxesibeni have launched a manhunt following the murder of a 69-year-old woman, whose body was discovered with multiple stab wounds. The incident took place at her home in Maliwa location, Manzana Administrative Area.
The discovery was made on Saturday morning, 24 May 2025, at around 07:00. Officers were called to the scene, where they found the woman lying dead in her bedroom. According to police, she had sustained several stab wounds to her upper body.
Initial information suggests the woman was alone in the house at the time of the incident. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been made.
Police have appealed to the public for assistance in tracking down the suspect or suspects responsible. Anyone with information is urged to contact the investigating officer directly at 082 319 8156. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously via Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or by reporting to the nearest police station.
Authorities say all leads will be followed up and have assured the public that every effort is being made to bring those responsible to justice.
