KwaZulu-Natal police arrested 38 motorists for drunk driving in Margate, Port Shepstone, on the night of 26 December 2025. Among them was a 74-year-old driver, according to a 5am report received by MEC Siboniso Duma.
The arrests were part of the ongoing #NenzaniLaEzweni road safety operation, which has led to over 2,600 arrests across the province since 15 August 2025.

- Arrests also made in Newcastle and Groutville
- In Newcastle, a police officer, firefighter, paramedic, and two teachers were among the 32 arrested
- Groutville recorded another 32 arrests, with the oldest driver being 65
