On Monday, the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela local municipality Mayor, Cllr TD Mafumbatha and members of her executive formally handed over the contractors who will repair the roads in six wards today.
The first handover took place at Dyifani JSS in Ward 31 where it was handed over to Mabozela Trading who will repair the Dyifani Access Road.
In Ward 08 the handover took place a Somtsewu SPS and it was handed over to Siti Cargo to repair the Mabhanqana Access Road.
In Ward 28 in Lundini, LG Construction has been awarded to repair the road from Lundini to Mtshawedikazi.
Ward 10 in Rockville has been awarded MVI Construction and Maintenance to repair the Rockville to Komkhulu Access Road.
In Ward 22 in Dinizulu, Wosanawe Trading has been awarded the repair of Dinizulu Access Road.
In Ward 04 in Ludeke Hall, Nikhwe Group has been awarded the contract to repair Mabutho Access Road.
These routes are expected to create temporary jobs for the communities of the above-mentioned areas and will last for two to three months.
