Bizana-born multi-talented Avumile Majola was forced by the unemployment rate to start her clothing line and come up with something sustainable.

Wentokazi is a clothing line that is named after her paternal grandfather uMgubo Wentokazi and it promotes black girls’ magic and also changes the narrative about beauty standards.

“I launched my clothing line last year in November, I specialize in womenswear and we were also featured at Khayelitsha Fashion Week and uMzila Fashion Show,” she explains.

Starting we all face challenges but dwelling on them is what Avumile avoids and she tries to make things work out with the little she has.

Venturing in clothing was not my initial plan but receiving compliments during my varsity days about my dress sense is what pushed me to eventually start my line,” she says.
