The Pondoland Times visited two voting stations in Ward One, Bizana Town, to assess the situation on the ground and gauge voter turnout. Our team spoke to several voters to gather their opinions on the voting experience and their motivations for casting their ballots.

Voters Share Their Thoughts

At the Bizana Magistrate Court voting station, Busiswa Sanda expressed her support for the ANC, citing improvements in education and free schooling. Akhona Nobetsiki emphasized the importance of voting to have a say in the decisions that affect one’s community. Nozipho Radebe praised the ANC government for its initiatives, such as child support grants, NSFAS, and free education.

Mnqophiso Ndabeni from Highland View voted for change and to have a say in the future. Mthuthuzeli Mtukushe, a retired police officer, stressed the significance of voting to shape one’s future and hold elected parties accountable. Urgent Siyalithatha Mzi’ayidume from the MK party expressed hope that voters would make informed decisions to better their future.
