The African National Congress (ANC) has invited like- minded political parties and community groups to join its march on Friday to the Israeli embassy in Pretoria.
On Wednesday, the ANC’s secretary general Fikile Mbalula and its national spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu Motsiri both stated that the organization was prepared to participate in the march against the bombardment of the Palestinian people. The march takes place just days after Palestinian sources announced that an Israeli strike on Gaza’s Al-Ahli Arab Hospital on Tuesday resulted in at least 500 deaths. Mbalula claimed that the ANC’s support for the Palestinian people came from the same struggle against the apartheid regime in South Africa, and he added that the ANC was ready to work together with Nonprofits and religious organizations to create a global anti-apartheid movement against Israel.
Mbalula requested the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the ICC to act against Israel’s “genocidal crimes”.
