The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed that disability grant payments for June 2025 began on Tuesday, 4 June. This includes both the permanent disability grant and the temporary disability grant for those who qualify under the agency’s medical and financial assessment criteria.
Beneficiaries are reminded to use only official SASSA payment points, including Postbank cards, retail outlets, ATMs, and mobile pay points. The monthly value of the disability grant remains at R2,180, with top-ups applied in special cases.
Applicants who are newly approved or due for reassessment are urged to ensure all supporting medical documents are up to date. In some areas, biometric verification may be required to reduce fraud and verify identity during payment collection.
SASSA has also cautioned against scam messages and fake agents promising early access to funds or charging for application support.
