A 37-year old East London man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, 04 October 2022 at a crime scene where the body of a three-year old boy was found in bushes in Bhongweni location.
It has been alleged that at about 15:30, the suspect ( who is believed to be the boyfriend to the mother of the deceased boy) went to the house of the mother and fetched the child, Sinobom Tywantsi,who at the time was playing with other children. The suspect took the boy to nearby bushes and allegedly slit his throat. It is said that community members who witnessed him going into the bushes, immediately contacted the police who found the suspect with the deceased child. A blood stained knife was found.
It is further alleged that the motive for the brutal murder is suspected to be a paternal issue.
The man was arrested on charges of murder and is expected to appear in court soon.
