In commemoration of Human Rights Day, the Ngqeleni Local Municipality in partnership with Ngqeleni Athletics Club, Ngqeleni SuperSpar, Eastern Cape Department of Sport Recreation Arts and Culture (DSRAC), O.R. Tambo District Municipality ( ORTDM ) hosted a successful annual road race.
The purpose of this event was to bring people together and promote a healthy lifestyle. Ms. Lusanda Bomvana from Madeira Athletics club in Mthatha came in first in the women’s 21km race meanwhile Mr. Tukiso Motlomelo from Lesotho dipped the grand prize of the day.
Nyandeni Mayor Cllr. View Ndamase expressed his appreciation towards all sponsors of the race and also recommended that the race be expanded to accommodate a 42km race next year.
