Expectations were high from both camps as the former champions went against a Spears of the Nation’s team that had a stella season that saw them winning their stream and going all the way to the finals of the provincial play off.
In a bitter turn of events, the much-anticipated derby between much the revered teams in Bizana failed to impress as the game ended in a goalless stalemate much to the disappointment of fans.

Newbies, Thohoyandou FC travelled to East London in their first game of the campaign against Birmingham FC. The boys from Bizana managed to edge the home side in the nail biting encounter with a 2 – 1 earning them the full three points.
