Australia’sdefender Kye Rowles has vowed to turn the tables on Japan as the Socceroos aim to secure their first-ever victory on Japanese soil in a crucial World Cup qualifying match.
The Australians have struggled against Japan, with their last win dating back to 2009. Japan, ranked 16th in the FIFA rankings, remains unbeaten in qualifying Group C, scoring 14 goals without conceding.
Rowles acknowledged Japan’s dominance but emphasized the importance of this match, particularly with the qualification process nearing its halfway point.
“We need to change our fortunes and put in a strong performance,” he said.
