The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced the payment dates for all social grants, including the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, for the month of August 2025.
According to the schedule released, the payment dates are as follows:
- Older Persons Grant: Friday, 2 August 2025
- Disability Grant: Monday, 5 August 2025
- Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 6 August 2025
SASSA emphasizes that beneficiaries do not need to rush to withdraw their funds on the same day, as the money will remain safely in their accounts until accessed.
For SRD R350 grant recipients, payments will be processed between 23 and 29 August 2025. Beneficiaries are advised to check their individual status on the official SASSA website (https://srd.sassa.gov.za) to confirm their exact payment date. Once payments are made, it may take 2–3 working days for funds to reflect in their bank accounts.
SASSA also reminded beneficiaries to stay alert for scams and to only use official communication platforms for updates.
