Crime scene

A manhunt is underway in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, after four suspects allegedly stormed into a rondavel house in the Magwaza area, Malangeni, Umzinto, on Sunday night, June 2, 2024, killing three women and injuring two others, including an 11-year-old girl.

According to police reports, the suspects, one of whom wore a balaclava, forced their way into the house where five women were preparing for bed. The suspect with the concealed face allegedly singled out the victims, resulting in the fatal shooting of three women aged 28, 37, and 61. The two surviving victims, the 11-year-old girl and a 60-year-old woman, sustained gunshot wounds to their arms and legs.

The motives behind the gruesome attack are still unknown, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out as a possible factor. Initial investigations suggest that the 37-year-old victim was going through a divorce and was seeking a portion of her estranged husband’s pension.

The police are urging anyone with information that could aid in the investigation to come forward and contact the nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111. The suspects remain at large, and the police are working tirelessly to apprehend them and bring them to justice.
