Three murderers from the Eastern Cape have been sentenced in the Makhanda High Court after they callously murdered two women in July 2023.
Police Commision LT Gen Nomthetheleli Mene said she is very proud of East London police after these man have been sentanced in Makhanda High Court.
Mandla Qosho, 46, Siyanda Makaleni, 45, and Sgagela Mgwatyu, 53, pleaded guilty to charges of business robbery, robbery with a firearm, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of murder, rape.
Their arrest happened after a murder case of 2 woman Zoleka Gantana (57) and her asistant Kholosa Mpungose (27) in Ncera kidds beach in East London was opened in 8 July 2023.
The victms were burnt and killed after one of them recognised one of the 5 suspects, the body of the victms were found in Ngqushwa River.
Mandla Qoshwa got a life sentance, Siyanda Makaleni was sentanced 15 years in prison and Sgagela Mgwatyala was sentanced 12 years in prison and 1 of the suspects dinied and his case was extended for the next apeal.
LT General Mene said that people should work together to stop the violence of killing woman and children.
