According to the African National Congress (ANC)’s Provincial Head of Communication, Gift Ngqondi, the ANC has received a confirmation of resignation of Xola Pakati as Executive Mayor of Buffalo City with immediate effect.
Ngqondi says, the ANC wishes to thank Pakati for his service to the party and the people of Buffalo City.
He says the speaker of the Council will convene a Special Council meeting during the course of the week for the election of the new incumbent.
Ngqondi says the ANC will make an official announcement on the Mayoral candidate in due course.
