The highly anticipated legal showdown between Sinenkani FC and the South African Football Association (SAFA) has been postponed. The Makhanda High Court on Tuesday announced that the matter will now be heard on the 5th and 6th of August 2025.
The postponement was reportedly due to the non-availability of the full bench of judges required to preside over the case, as well as the late submission of legal documents by several new parties who joined the case as recently as last night.
The matter involves Sinenkani FC and other applicants challenging decisions by SAFA and other respondents—the details of which have not yet been made fully public, but are believed to concern disputes related to football governance, promotion, or disciplinary rulings.
The court’s decision to delay proceedings will give all parties additional time to submit their affidavits and formalize their participation in the case.
Sinenkani FC has assured supporters—affectionately known as the Stubborn Nation—that they will be kept informed as developments unfold.
As the new court date approaches, this case is likely to draw continued national interest, especially among local football communities seeking fairness and transparency in the sport’s administration.
