On Monday the South African National Defence (SANDF) force released a media statement that it has deployed military health care practitioners, to assist the department of health while The public service association strike is still in motion.

The decision was made due to the plea for assistance from the department of health following the national strike by workers affiliated to the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) the statement reflects that the Military Medical practitioners were deployed to a number of hospitals on Wednesday the 8th of March as instructed by the Department of Health they will continue to assist until operations go back to normal.
