On Wednesday, Prince Nhlanganiso KaZwelithini Zulu, son of the late Zulu monarch King Zwelithini, had a powerful interactive session with male offenders at Kokstad Medium Correctional Centre. As the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health ambassador for HIV & TB, medical male circumcision, and life coach, Prince Zulu’s visit aimed to motivate and educate the inmates.
With passion and concern, Prince Zulu addressed the inmates, urging them to take care of themselves and their families. He emphasized the importance of refraining from drug and alcohol abuse, women and child abuse, and encouraged the men to protect their loved ones. He also shared his personal experience as a TB survivor, highlighting the importance of correct medication and care.
The Assistant Head of the Correctional Centre, Nelson Ngeleka, praised Prince Zulu’s presentation, stating that it will assist in their rehabilitation and hygiene programs. Ngeleka also requested that Prince Zulu return to address the male officials, as they too face similar social challenges.
Prince Zulu’s visit is part of his ongoing efforts to spread awareness and hope in KwaZulu-Natal Correctional Centres, focusing on medical male circumcision, HIV & AIDS, and TB care. His message of love, motivation, and empowerment is set to have a lasting impact on the inmates and officials alike.
