Ntabankulu Local Municipality Mayor, Her Worship Cllr Tsileng Sobuthongo, delivered the State of the Municipality Address, highlighting the municipality’s service delivery report from 2021/22 to 2023/24 and outlining plans for the upcoming year.
The mayor announced significant progress in addressing service delivery challenges, including:
- Road rehabilitation through disaster grants
- Improved access to services in previously inaccessible areas
- Achieving 99% universal access to electrification, with plans to complete the remaining 1%
The mayor also highlighted major infrastructure projects funded through the District Development Model (DDM), including:
- Ntabankulu to Phuthi road construction (R221 million)
- Shinta to Sipetu road completion (R337 million)
- Dikidikini bridge construction (R37 million)
- Ntabankulu sports field phase 3 (R10 million)
- Ntabankulu Library and Agricultural College establishment (R500 million)
These projects aim to combat poverty, unemployment, and lack of opportunities in Ntabankulu. The mayor urged citizens to be patient as the government works to address service delivery challenges.
The address demonstrated the municipality’s commitment to improving the lives of Ntabankulu residents.
