Mbashe Local Municipality will host a homecoming celebration for Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni. She will arrive in Mthatha on Friday 05 December and continue her programme at Mbashe LG Mall on Saturday 06 December 2025.
Mazaleni comes from Falakahla Village in Ward 08, Dutywa. Her crowning has ignited pride across the district. Local leaders say the celebration recognises her roots, her values, and her mission to uplift young people.
She champions inclusive education and autism awareness. She also fights stigma and pushes for accessible support for neurodiverse children. Her message centres on education as a tool to break cycles of poverty and unemployment.
