Mayor Nelani Hosts Ward 6 Imbizo on Crime, Infrastructure Vandalism

Residents of Ward 6 in the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality gathered at Southernwood Hall for a Mayoral Imbizo led by Executive Mayor G.N. Nelani. The community engagement focused on the current state of service delivery in the area, with crime and the vandalism of municipal electricity infrastructure topping the agenda.

The Mayor used the platform to discuss these pressing issues and listen to community concerns, stressing the importance of working together to safeguard public assets and improve safety.

To make the day more impactful, several government departments brought their services directly to residents through mobile units. These included the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), the Department of Employment and Labour, the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), the South African Police Service (SAPS), and the Department of Health.

The outreach aimed to bridge service gaps by giving residents immediate access to social grants, employment assistance, business support, policing advice, and health services without the need to travel long distances.

Mayor Nelani said the municipality remains committed to open dialogue with communities, ensuring that challenges are addressed collaboratively and that service delivery remains a priority.
