Her Worship, Mayor Cllr. TD Mafumbatha, convened the Local AIDS Council (LAC) meeting today at the Council Chamber, uniting key stakeholders in a collective effort to tackle HIV/AIDS-related challenges within the community.

The meeting focused on strategies to bolster awareness, prevention, and support initiatives while fostering collaboration among various sectors. Attendees included representatives from the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality, Alfred Nzo District Municipality, government departments, and civil society organizations.

Mayor Mafumbatha emphasized the importance of unified action in combating HIV/AIDS and its impact on local communities.

“Together, we can create a healthier, empowered society by addressing stigma, enhancing access to services, and supporting those living with HIV/AIDS,” she stated.

Discussions focus attention on the need for strengthened partnerships, innovative educational campaigns, and expanded resources for prevention and care programs. Participants also shared insights into existing challenges and explored new ways to integrate community-driven solutions.
