The Office of the Provincial Commissioner: Eastern Cape released a media statement on a foreign national that was arrested for the possession of drugs.
The 49-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 at the Mabakwini locality, Ndabakazi Village in Butterworth. This operation was led by the Butterworth crime Intelligence and OCC members.
The man was found in possession of 22 crystal methamphetamine sachets, (locally known as tik) during his arrest.
According to the report, the police officers, “acted on the information they received about a vehicle he was travelling on”, and therefore began their operation and caught up with him proceeding with his arrest.
The 49-year-old man is expected to appear in court today, 07 September, 2022.
