Deputy Minister of Human Settlements Tandi Mahambehlala led the UN International Day of Rural Women celebration in Libode, Eastern Cape. The event highlighted women’s role in tackling climate change, promoting food security, and driving community empowerment.
What Happened
Hosted by the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development, the commemoration brought together rural women, youth, and traditional leaders under the theme “Supporting rural women and young women to respond to climate change through agricultural production, food security, natural resource management, and customary marriage.”
