The strategic decision to sell the hospital included extensive discussions and careful consideration of various factors, including the evolving local business environment and stakeholders needs.

Both Life Healthcare and Crestcare have been committed to maintaining business continuity during the transition period to ensure patient care is not disrupted or compromised because of this transaction.

Crestcare have been working alongside both Life Healthcare’s management and the operations teams at Life St Mary’s Hospital in the process leading up to the 3 December date of conclusion of the transaction. Doctors and employees have been engaged to gain inputs and to jointly define the future of St Mary’s Hospital.

“We thank the Mthatha and surrounding communities for entrusting Life Healthcare with your care over the years.  We are confident that the hospital will continue to thrive under the new ownership”, said Craig Koekemoer, Chief Operations Officer, Life Healthcare.
