King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Municipality hosted a two-day management retreat from 6 to 7 January 2026 at the Savoy Conference Centre. The programme focused on service delivery performance, internal cohesion, and preparing for upcoming strategic planning.

What Happened

The retreat was led by Executive Mayor G.N Nelani and attended by senior municipal officials and managers. In his opening address, the Mayor emphasised the importance of administrative support in implementing council resolutions and delivering quality services.

“We must act as a united team to meet the expectations of the KSD community,” said Mayor Nelani.

Municipal Manager Mr N. Pakade outlined the purpose of the retreat, calling for improved internal collaboration and skills development across departments. He urged staff to remain adaptable to changing conditions in order to remain effective and accountable.

Retreat Outcomes and Focus Areas

The retreat addressed several internal priorities aimed at improving KSD’s operations, including:
