KwaMashu will host the 11th annual Inkasi Experience on 15 December 2025 at Princess Magogo Stadium. The event brings top South African performers to the heart of the township. Organisers aim to spotlight KwaMashu’s talent and spirit while shifting perceptions of the area.

What Happened
Local creatives founded the Inkasi Experience to show a brighter side of township life. This year’s festival features a packed lineup with DJ Tira, Mawhoo, Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Zola 7, Dladla Mshunqisi, Distraction Boyz, Berry, and Shakur, with more names on the way.
Organisers said the festival blends music, culture, and community pride. “Inkasi is our home. We want people to feel its energy, not just hear its headlines,” one team member shared.
Tickets are available on Ticketpro in four phases, starting at R200 and running up to R400 for VIP access.
Official Response
Event coordinators stressed that the festival sends a clear message: KwaMashu is full of creativity and resilience. They noted that the growth of the event reflects strong local support.
A spokesperson added, “Each year, Inkasi gets bigger because the community believes in it. We want visitors from across South Africa to experience the real Kasi.”
Community Impact
Residents expect the festival to boost local businesses, showcase township talent, and draw visitors into KwaMashu’s cultural heartbeat. For many, the event offers a moment to celebrate identity and rewrite old narratives.
Because the festival attracts national attention, locals hope it will inspire more investment and positive engagement in the township.
