The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) in the Eastern Cape is hosting a series of activities to raise awareness and encourage public participation in the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SoNA), scheduled to take place on Thursday, 6 February 2025.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address will focus on the theme “A nation that works, for all,” outlining the government’s policy direction for the 7th Administration and deliverables for the year ahead.

The GCIS has planned various information-sharing activities, including taxi rank and road intersection activations, as well as on-air radio dialogues on community radio stations across the Eastern Cape.

These events aim to mobilize communities to be part of the SoNA and promote public education, a fundamental pillar of democracy. The GCIS invites the public to participate in these activities and engage with the government’s plans and policies.

For more information on the Pre-SoNA awareness outreaches, contact the GCIS or visit their website.
