According to the Eastern Cape Kidnapping Task team, headed by East London based Serious Organized Crime Investigation team of the Hawks, Constable Mfundo Ntshiba (35) and Xolile Makhosini (37) were arrested on charges of house robbery, kidnapping and hijacking.

It is alleged that on the 5th of July 2022, a house robbery and kidnapping of two victims took place at Ndondo Square location in Cala, at a loan shark’s residence.

According to Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela the loan shark was robbed of 98 bank cards and R22 000 in cash by the accused, who were wearing police uniforms.

She says Ntshiba was arrested the following day, leading to the arrest of a taxi owner and traditional healer, Makhosini.

Mgolodela further added that the taxi owner and the traditional healer were later released on bail, while Ntshiba was denied bail.

She further concluded that the Hawks are also searching for Vuyisanani Topo, who they believe can assist in solving the case.
