Checkers’ popular Little Shop campaign has returned for its fifth run, offering families 46 new mini collectibles and, for the first time, a board game included in every Collector’s Case. The promotion runs from 22 September to 9 November 2025, exclusive to Xtra Savings members at Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Checkers Foods, and via Sixty60.

WHAT HAPPENED

The new collection features soft, rubbery minis that double as fidget toys, adding a playful twist to the collectibles. Items range from Checkers’ own Sixty60 delivery bike and Simple Truth Coconut Water to South African favourites such as Ouma Rusks, All Gold Tomato Sauce, and Oros.

Each Collector’s Case, retailing at R99.99, comes with a 3-in-1 board game that mixes puzzles, physical activities, and racing challenges designed for screen-free family fun.

OFFICIAL RESPONSE

Checkers said this year’s campaign is its most ambitious yet. “We wanted to create something exciting that brings families together while staying true to our sustainability goals,” the retailer noted.

In keeping with its environmental focus, the minis are made from at least 80% post-consumer recycled materials such as discarded water bottles, fridge parts, and goggles. Customers can also return unwanted or duplicate minis to in-store recycling boxes, where they will be reused or repurposed.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Families across South Africa have welcomed the return of Little Shop as a nostalgic, interactive way to spend time together. The initiative also sparks conversations around recycling and circular economy practices.

“I love that my kids can play while learning about sustainability. It makes shopping fun for the whole family,” said one shopper at Checkers Hyper.

Shoppers also stand a chance to win big — those who buy any three participating products and swipe their Xtra Savings card can enter a competition for a five-night family holiday to LEGOLAND Dubai, worth R224,000.
