The 14-year old who was allegedly raped at an Eastern Cape High School speaks out for the first time since the ordeal happened. The Grade 8 pupil says she was dragged by four boys into one of Maria Louws High school dormitories and repeatedly raped.

The alleged victim has also been receiving anonymous threats and being intimidated as well as accused of lying about the incident.

“I don’t have any hope; I think some people think I’m lying. I only have my family right now that I can trust and rely on” she says.

The aspiring charted accountant has lost hope in her dream.

Even my hopes and dreams that I will be a charted accountant it is like they will just go in vain.

Her mother states that her daughter has started having suicidal thoughts and an aggressive behavior.

She hasn’t been mentally okay and that doesn’t sit well with us. She would aggressively wash the dishes as if she’s fighting with the people that raped her. At night she doesn’t sleep, life hasn’t been easy for her. – says the victims mother.

The boys have been arrested and expelled from the school since June 2022
