Moja Love (DStv Channel 157) has issued a strong statement denouncing the continued use of derogatory language by media personality MacG, whose remarks have been criticised for perpetuating gender-based disrespect and the objectification of women.

In the statement released on 28 April 2025, the broadcaster highlighted that MacG’s use of vulgar slurs and body-shaming comments go beyond being offensive — describing them as a “damaging reinforcement of gender-based disrespect” with no place in media. Moja Love affirmed that platforms should serve to uplift society, not degrade it.

The channel reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a respectful and inclusive media environment. “Misogyny on air doesn’t just harm the individuals targeted; it perpetuates a toxic culture that normalises the dehumanisation of women,” the release stated.

Moja Love also called on both broadcasters and the public to hold media figures accountable, stating that “respect isn’t a privilege, it’s a right.” The statement concluded by urging audiences to reject sexist vitriol and support media that uphold dignity and equality.
