Many UIF applicants struggle to log into uFiling due to forgotten passwords, OTP issues, or profile lockouts. Here’s how to fix it.

Problem 1: Forgotten Password

Go to https://ufiling.labour.gov.za

Click:
“Forgot Password”

You will need:

  • ID number

  • Registered email

  • OTP verification

Create a new password and log in.

Problem 2: OTP Not Received

If you do not receive OTP:

  • Check if your phone number is correct on your profile

  • Check spam folder for email OTP

  • Ensure your SIM is active

If number changed:
You must update details via UIF call centre or labour office.

Problem 3: Account Locked

After multiple failed login attempts:

  • Wait 30 minutes before retrying

  • Use password reset option

If still locked:
Call UIF call centre: 0800 030 007

When to Visit a Labour Centre

You may need in-person help if:

  • Your ID number is not recognised

  • Your profile is linked to wrong contact details

  • You cannot verify identity

Bring:

  • ID copy

  • Proof of bank account
