Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Lubabalo Mabuyane, is closing the women’s month by supporting encouraging and empowering women. Mabuyane encourages people of Eastern Cape especially young women to consider farming.
Aneza Mandini (30) from Mnyolo Hieghts just outside Ugie, is a complete female farmer and she has her own farming tools. Aneza owns a farm that with 165 hectors and she was awarded the funding and other farming equipment by the government. Aneza is doing PhD in Agricultural Science.
“Together with Isiqalo Youth Fund we handed over farming equipment to Aneza Mandini, the equipment cost R900,000. This includes tractors, plows, fertilizer, ripper and spreader amongst other equipment that were handed over to the Mnyolo Hieghts farm,” said Mabuyane.
The Mnyolo Hieghts farm specializes in vegetables and livestock production. Their aim and purpose is to hire more young people in the farm and contribute in food security while fighting poverty in Eastern Cape.
The aim of Isiqalo Youth Fund is to support young entrepreneurs through financial and non-financial support and enable them to be active participants in growing the economy of the Eastern Cape.
