What is happening?
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is accepting bursary applications through its online platform, Indicium. This step-by-step guide explains how to complete the 2026 application process correctly to avoid delays or disqualification.
Why it matters to you
If you’re a student in the civil and built environment fields, this bursary can help fund your studies. However, incorrect or incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified — and you must meet strict requirements, including income and course eligibility.
What you need to know
To apply successfully for a CETA bursary, you must complete all 8 mandatory steps on Indicium. Here is a summary of each one:
| Step | What You Must Do |
|---|---|
| 1. Application Type | Choose “New Application” or “Continue” based on your status. Enter your ID and application number. |
| 2. Matric/Tertiary Info | Provide details of your school, qualifications, and institution. Complete all fields. |
| 3. Applicant Details | Fill in your personal information accurately. |
| 4. Employment Details | Declare your employment status. If unemployed, add Next of Kin and household income. You cannot apply if income exceeds R600,000/year. |
| 5. Bursary Information | Ensure your course is in the civil and built environment. All other qualifications will be rejected. |
| 6. Academic Results | Manually enter each subject and mark. The system will calculate your average. |
| 7. Document Uploads | Upload certified copies of all required documents. Use the dropdown to label each one. |
| 8. Terms & Declaration | Read and accept the terms before final submission. |
