DJ Terra whose real name is Temba Magadla from Mbizana is an Afro Tech & Sgubhu Dj who fell in love with the disks in 2010 when he followed his friend Dj Sthera .
Temba Magadla who’s also a deputy chairperson in the Cultural and Creative Industries Federation of South Africa (CCIFSA), an organization that helps artists to showcase their talents so that they can be well-known and respected as an artist regardless of how long they’ve been in the industry, says:
“We want to help put artists on the map, with the help of Volo da Saint, Bandile DJ Talks Ka Siby, Dj Bunene etc.. We are helping the youth in showcasing their talents because there are many talented people out here whom they need to showcase their talents as we have about 31 wards in Mbizana. There is a lot of talent in Mbizana under the section of art so it’s our job to make sure that the talent is out there.”
Terra is currently eSidayeni Lounge resident DJ in Mbizana town opposite SASSA, he is playing good music every Friday and Saturday from 6 pm to 1 am. He was also a residential DJ in Hluma since 2018 alongside DJ Talks, DJ Ndokzin, DJ Sthera and DJ Zisto and he have shared a stage with artists like Sam De Dj, Dj Mavucks,Volo De Saint, Simphiwe Majozi, Artii, Sharkboy to name just a few and performed in different clubs & ShisaNyamas such as Hluma Camp, Esidayeni, Bizztown and Congos lifestyle.
They created a bond & built a family with Bandile DJ Talks ka Siby, Zanethemba Ngewu known as Bunene and Sthembiso Mavuka who helps with the Sound system. they have worked together for many years because they all know the importance of art.
“In the next 3 to 4 years Mbizana will be big because we have also people who groom the young upcoming artists who are Siyabonga Dlavu , Dududu , Siyalithatha Mzaidume and more on the other hand. Shout out to Sthembi known as Dj Stherra who taught me everything as a Dj. ” – DJ Terra
