Role Overview
We are looking for a results-driven Media Sales Representative to grow advertising and printing revenue by building strong relationships with local businesses, organisations, and government stakeholders.
This role focuses on selling:
- Print advertising
- Digital advertising (website & newsletter)
- Bulk printing (flyers, inserts, catalogues)
- Integrated marketing packages
Key Responsibilities
- Sell advertising space in the newspaper, website, and newsletter
- Promote bundled packages (print + digital + social)
- Drive sales of printing services (flyers, inserts, posters)
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets
- Identify and approach local businesses and organisations
- Build long-term client relationships
- Understand client needs and recommend tailored solutions
- Provide after-sales support and ensure client satisfaction
- Identify new revenue opportunities in rural and township markets
- Pitch to retailers, schools, government departments, and events
- Work with editorial and design teams to execute campaigns
- Ensure adverts and materials are delivered on time
Key Skills & Requirements
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
- Self-motivated and target-driven
- Knowledge of local Eastern Cape communities
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in media sales, advertising, or marketing (advantageous)
- Existing network of local business contacts (advantageous)
- Understanding of print and digital advertising (advantageous)
Compensation
- Basic salary (optional depending on structure)
- Commission on all sales
- Performance-based incentives
