I have vacated the office to fulfill my new responsibilities as a PR Councillor, as the role of Secretary-General is a full-time commitment, – Zigebe said. He expressed full confidence in Deputy Secretary-General Zandile Phiri, who will now serve as Acting Secretary-General, praising her integrity and leadership capabilities.

Zigebe reflected on his tenure as Secretary-General, which began on June 6, 2023, describing it as an honor to serve the party he has been part of since his youth. “It was a privilege to work with dedicated colleagues who share a passion for this great movement,” he said. Zigebe highlighted the significant strides made by the UDM during his leadership, including key achievements in both national and provincial elections, attributing these successes to the party’s commitment to principles of justice, equality, and accountability.

As he transitions to his new role in Johannesburg, Zigebe reaffirmed his dedication to the UDM’s vision.

I remain committed to advocating for the core values that have defined the UDM—integrity, dignity, and prosperity for all South Africans, he said.

He also expressed strong support for Zandile Phiri, noting her ability to guide the UDM to even greater success. “I trust that under her leadership, the UDM will continue to grow as a beacon of hope for all who seek fairness and opportunity,” Zigebe concluded.
