“I’m targeting hip-hop fans and those who understand my music”

Drawing a lot of inspiration from Cape Town’s hitmaker Dee Koala. Sive Vezi also-known-as Vee Vezy is a young female rapper from Bizana, Eastern Cape. The young female rapper started her music career in 2017, writing in English. She recently switched and writes in both English and IsiXhosa, a move which has been well-received by her fans especially after releasing “Mswenko” where she features local rapper Jerry Beaver

“Hip-hop music means a lot to me.” says Vee. “I mean, it is where I am able to express myself freely, tell my story and a lot of me is rooted in hip-hop” she added. The rapper says she is not a bubbly person so she uses hip-hop to express herself.

Sive started writing gospel music when she was only 11 years old but she heard Kendrick Lammar her heart was stolen and she then became obsessed with rap music.

“When I first started writing rap songs, I would mimick him, trying sound like Kendrick”

Vee says she is missing opportunities of being played on radio stations because her music is not yet registered. The young female rapper is open for collaborations and willing to work with other artists as long as she likes the music of those willing to make music with her.

GOALS AND THE FUTURE

When talking about her goals and her future in the music business the young rapper says she would like to own her own record company.

  • Inspire other kids
  • Own her own brand
